All three can be additized to improve EP performance as well as friction reduction.  Be aware that lithium greases do not have the resistance to heat that either of the complex greases would.  Water washout is another story.  Aluminum complex has long been praised for its resistance to water.  It is usually far more resistant to water than either lithium or lithium complex.

Mineral, synthetic blends and full synthetic motor oils are compatible and will not harm your vehicles engine.

Synthetic oils are produced in a laboratory under a process that takes very small molecules and bonds them together to form larger molecules which enhances the properties of the oil. Mineral oils are refined crude oil through various hydro refined/hydro cracking processes that separates unwanted properties to form a finished product suitable for use.

The most common NLGI grade of grease is a #2 grade grease. These grades determine how thick or thin a grease is based on an ASTM D4950 test for penetration, at X60 strokes, at 25°C and range from #000 (fluid) to #6 (brick).

The “W” in motor oil stands for the cold temperature pumpability of the oil. Example: 5W20 multi-grade motor oil means it can operate like a 5 weight oil in colder climates and a 20 weight oil in warmer climates.

The API (American Petroleum Institute) is a national trade association that represents all aspects of the oil and natural gas industry. We do not recommend using any motor oils not registered with the API.

Society of Automotive Engineers coordinates the development of technical standards for the automotive industry.
